Catch me if you Cannes

June 3rd, 2010 by Stephen Durrant

Going to the Festival de Cannes is a truly great and inspiring experience, no matter what you do or whereabouts you are in the film industry. I was lucky enough to go this year, from May 12th – 17th, with a screenwriting friend of mine. My main purpose of going was to try to make some connections and to catch some new films... (more)

The Day Of

June 7th, 2010 by Erin Lanza

It seemed like just yesterday I walked into the empty black box of ESU to audition of the film "Never Too Late".  As I walked in to the room, I didn't realize that the people that were "sizing me up", so to speak, for the audition, would be the people I would spend much of my summer with... (more)

After having a lead role in the now-canceled film “Betrayed”, Michael had a starring role as Nathan in director Michael Sherry’s debut film, “One Minute”. Michael has recently become the script editor for the most recent film, “The Road Home”. Michael continues to have an interest in acting and wishes to participate in future Hollow Tree Films in an on-screen capacity. Outside of Hollow Tree Films, Michael is an aspiring writer who has been writing for a number of years. Michael hopes that Hollow Tree Films and its experiences can help eventually launch a career in the near future.

As of recently, Michael is the script editor of Hollow Tree Films' newest feature length film, "Never Too Late."

Q. So, you're a writer. What's that like?

A. It's very exciting to create your own storyline, characters, and plot.  When you write your own storylines, you can create anything and have things happen your way.  To maybe create something that can be used in a film or other form of media is something I'd like to do in the future.

Q. Been away from acting for a while. Looking to make a comeback?

A. It was an experience I'll never forget.  To be one of the stars of the first completed HTF film is a milestone.  It was a lot of hard work to make the film but seeing the completed product made me glad to be a part of the project.

Q. Could we expect to see a script from you soon?

A. I don't currently have a writing project at the moment.  I am trying to come up with new ideas to be the basis for a new script.  A script that I hope could someday be used for the next HTF production.
